Afternoon Focus Tea
Cognitive Adaptogenic Blend
A refreshing, caffeine-free blend crafted for clear thinking and steady focus. Peppermint and rosemary awaken the mind, lemon balm and tulsi ease stress, while ginkgo, ginger, and lion’s mane support circulation and cognitive vitality — helping you stay sharp through the afternoon without jitters.
Focus Without the Edge
The afternoon slump is real — that narrowing of thought, the restless searching for momentum that coffee used to provide. This blend was formulated as a gentler answer: not stimulation, but alignment. It works by supporting the systems that make focus possible in the first place.
“Peppermint and rosemary for alertness. Lemon balm for calm. Lion’s mane for the long game.”
Peppermint and rosemary open the senses and sharpen alertness — both have robust traditional and emerging research behind their effects on memory and mental performance. Lemon balm and holy basil work the other side of the equation, easing the cortisol and anxious mental noise that clouds thinking.
Ginkgo biloba supports cerebral blood flow — the quiet circulation that keeps the brain fed. Ginger brings warmth and digestive ease, while lion’s mane provides cumulative neural nourishment. The result is a cup that sharpens without agitating, and calms without fogging.

Pairs well with Mountain’s Daughter’s Forest Flow Tea — the gut support in Forest Flow complements the cognitive focus here, as gut-brain axis health underpins mood and cognition.
Honest Cautions
This blend is gentle and well-tolerated for most adults. As with any functional herb blend, there are a few things worth knowing before making it a daily habit.
Consult Your Healthcare Provider If:
- Ginkgo Biloba — has mild blood-thinning properties. Avoid at high doses if you are taking anticoagulant medications (e.g. warfarin, aspirin therapy) or in the two weeks before surgery.
- Holy Basil (Tulsi) — may interact with blood thinners and could affect blood sugar or clotting in sensitive individuals. Those on diabetic medications should monitor accordingly.
- Ashwagandha — avoid if pregnant or taking thyroid medications. Not recommended in combination with sedative medications without medical guidance.
- At the typical serving size of 2–3g per cup, these effects are minimal. The cautions above apply primarily to concentrated supplemental doses.

Brewing With Intention
This blend rewards patience. A full steep extracts the rosinyl compounds from rosemary, the nervines from lemon balm, and the polysaccharides from lion’s mane that a quick dip simply won’t reach.
- 01
MeasureUse 2–3g (roughly 1½–2 tsp) per 8 oz / 240mL. A little more gives a more intense herbal character — especially the mint and rosemary.
- 02
Water Temperature205°F / 96°C — just off boiling. Hot enough to open the aromatic herbs fully, but not rolling-boil hot, which can drive off the volatile compounds responsible for peppermint and rosemary’s alertness effects.
- 03
Steep7–10 minutes covered. Covering the steep traps volatile aromatics and preserves the minty brightness. Steeping uncovered creates a milder, calmer cup — good for evenings.
- 04
EnhanceA fresh slice of lemon brightens the blend and adds natural Vitamin C that amplifies camu camu’s contribution. A thin slice of fresh ginger deepens the warmth. A drizzle of raw honey rounds the herbaceous edge.
- 05
Iced OptionSteep double-strength (4–5g), cool to room temperature, then pour over ice. The mint and lemon balm are outstanding cold — crisp and refreshing rather than medicinal.
Steep covered to preserve volatile aromatics — the compounds responsible for peppermint and rosemary’s alertness benefits.

When to Reach for It
The Afternoon Slump
Replace your 2pm coffee with this. Peppermint and rosemary restore alertness, lemon balm keeps the anxiety at bay, and you won’t be staring at the ceiling at midnight wondering why.
Writing & Creative Work
Lion’s mane and ashwagandha create a sustained, low-hum cognitive presence. No jittery bursts of inspiration — just a steady current of clear thought that holds through a long work session.
Study & Learning
Sage and ginkgo have deep histories in supporting memory encoding. Brew a cup before a study session. Drink it slowly. Give it 20 minutes before you open the book.
