Most light is a crowd. The sun or a light bulb sends out waves of many lengths, rising and falling out of step with one another. A laser is different. Its light is coherent: the waves share nearly the same wavelength and move in step, so the beam stays narrow and holds its shape across a room.
Think of a crowd crossing a bridge next to a marching band. Same people, same bridge. Only one of them moves as a unit.
How we use it
Coherence is what makes our installations possible. A coherent beam draws a clean line through fog, and when it meets a crystal face it splits, bends, and scatters into geometry a person can stand inside. In Auric Structuring, the lasers are there for the eyes and the mind: they shape what a person sees and how the space feels. Beams are set above and away from where people stand.
We keep one distinction clear. Coherence is what lets a laser draw in the air. What light does inside the body is a separate question, and it belongs to the research on photobiomodulation.
